What is premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation (coming too soon) is when a man ejaculates either before penetration of the woman’s vagina actually takes place or very quickly afterwards. This is not to be confused with ‘having a quickie’ which by its very nature is intended to produce a fast result generally in less than 3 minutes.
Premature ejaculation is simply a case of ejaculating before the man wants to.
How long do most men have sex for before they ejaculate?
From natures perspective there is nothing to be gained by delaying ejaculation. You won’t find other animals taking their time over intercourse! Thus delaying ejaculation is more about a man wanting to last longer than it being ‘nature’s norm’ to last longer. Most men ejaculate within 3 minutes but they probably don’t know that this is generally the case as when guys talk about how long they last in bed, it is often grossly exaggerated as the longer they last the more manly and a better lover they feel they are.
How long does sex have to last for a man to be considered good in bed?
Like everything it is not the quantity that matters it is the quality and so generally any sex that lasts from 3 to 10 minutes is pretty average and anything longer than 20 minutes and you’re on your way to a marathon sex session.
Do women like men to last longer in bed?
Despite media representations to the contrary, most women generally do not want to be made love to for hours on end. They become dry, sore and more importantly bored! So do not worry about the media reports claiming:
‘7 times a day Politician made love for hours!’
Most women reading that would wince and not just because it was a politician they’re reading about!!
What can I do to last longer in bed?
If you feel you are coming too soon and it’s creating sexual problems for you and your partner, there are a few things you can do to delay ejaculation.
1. Stop and Start
Just before you feel as though you are about to ejaculate, stop! Literally stop what you’re doing and when the urge to ejaculate has gone you can start again. Do this as many times as you feel comfortable. But be aware that your partner might herself be about to come and if you stop thrusting in the middle of her fun she won’t be happy. Learn to read the signs!
2. Talk to your partner
If you tell your partner to slow down etc. when she’s doing something very arousing so you can delay ejaculation rather than going with the flow (excuse the pun!) you can make the fun last longer.
3. Take a deep breath!
If you take a few slow, deep breaths when you are about to ejaculate, this alone can help return you to a more relaxed state and lower your sexual arousal.
4. Wear a condom
Many men lose a certain amount of sensitivity in their penises when wearing a condom and thus they may last longer in bed as they are less sexually aroused.
